Seeking Justice

War Crime Trials
After the war, many trials took place in an attempt to bring Nazi war criminals to justice and to establish an overall record of what happened during the Holocaust. At the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal in Germany twelve of the twenty two prominent Nazis on trial were sentenced to death. Additional trials took place in a number of countries. However, only a fraction of those involved in war crimes were brought to trial.

South Africa and the TRC
After South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994, the South African government established the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
